inkynd ("inkynd", "we", "us") runs the inkynd app and website. We're based in Sydney, Australia, and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you give it to us, your phone number.
- Business details: for business accounts, the business name, address, contact details and the items you list.
- Location: your approximate location, if you allow it, so we can show you what's available nearby.
- Activity: what you shout, claim and redeem, and when.
- Payments: payment records, such as amounts and dates. Card details are collected and processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card number.
- Device and usage information: such as device type, app version and basic usage data, to keep inkynd working and secure.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
How we use it
- To run inkynd: creating accounts, showing nearby items, processing shouts, holding claims and confirming redemptions.
- To pay businesses for redeemed items.
- To keep inkynd safe, including preventing fraud and misuse.
- To answer your questions and send you important service messages.
- To improve inkynd, using information that doesn't identify you where we can.
- To send you news about inkynd, only if you've agreed. You can opt out any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run inkynd:
- Businesses see the items redeemed at their counter and when. Claims are anonymous to the person who shouted the item.
- Service providers who help us run inkynd, such as Stripe for payments, and our hosting, email and support tools.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of our service providers may store information outside Australia. When that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. We keep it only as long as we need it to run inkynd or to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Your choices
- You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you.
- You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time.
- You can ask us to delete your account. See our support page for how.
